English

In cooperation with the One World Network NRW (to EWN-NRW) and the International Training and Capacity Building (to InWEnt) FUgE operates a coordinating body for development education. This promotes an information and networking structure of one-world initiatives from Hamm and circles Soest / Unna.

FUgE-manager and coordinator of development education (Eastern Region Ruhr / Soest), phone 02381/41511, dacostamelo(at)FUgE-Hamm.de

(FUgE-Radio review  to one-world work in the Hellweg region)

The aim of the Regionalcoordinator´s view  is to combine the one-world work in the region and attract many committed groups and individual initiatives throughout the Hellweg region to the table. This is done through a mix of services and events, which are made with the help of many volunteers motivated on their feet. See e.g. LIGA Network in Lünen and LiNet network in Lippstadt

New power for the one-world work in NRW
The one-world work is supported in North Rhine-Westphalia by a nationally unique program. With pulses from 15 regional offices and eight technical offices, the development education in the country will be strengthened and developed.

Regional conference of the One World Initiatives from Hamm, district Soest and Unna, October 17th 2007 in Werl

The Hellweg region shows a lot of commitment, even in the "one-world activities”. A number of initiatives that support humanitarian and development projects away from this continent and initiate and church groups selling fair trade products are examples of this engagement. To endeavor to network all of these initiatives in the Hellweg region since 1998, the Forum for Environment and equitable development, joint, in Hamm. Because the concentration of expertise, strengthen mutual support and worthwhile, encouraged the FUgE first-chairman Dr. Karl Faulenbach during the regional meeting of the one-world initiatives in the forum of nations.

The 25 participating project representatives come to learn know each other and to exchange. Particularly well represented, the one-world stores in the region who are involved mostly for twenty years were: "From a wardrobe from the pastor, we sell our fair trade coffee after Mass," are presented the Lippborg. In this context, quickly formulated a concern: A list of all one-world shops in the region, together with their opening times would be desirable: In the future it will be on the joint website. The extensive involvement of the voluntary initiatives is more difficult since the policy set by the drastic funding cuts in recent years, up to the deletion of funds for municipal development cooperation. is therefore essential, "acting through networked together to be stronger," Marcos da Costa Melo said. In this way chance rises to participate in funding programs at all."

FUgE offers collaborative and networked services already: In addition to their interesting website and regular newsletter, are schools and educational materials offered thematic work. The now extensive media library allows distribution and delivery of development and educational films. And from the recent regional meeting, a pool of speakers on various topics of development work was done".
