With the approach of preserving "the natural resources and distribute the wealth more equitable global” FUgE (Forum for Environment and Equitable Development) is in the tradition of the "Local Agenda 21". These objectives have been set many of the people in Hamm and in the Hellweg region and have become active in church communities, environmental groups, one-world initiatives and human rights organizations. FUgE will bring together these groups and committed individuals, focuses its activities and makes the common message across. We believe: Environment, Development and Social Services are composed of the different voices of a FUgE. Only together they blend into a harmonious whole. See FUgE-FOLDER (PDF-File) and FUgE members.

FUgE is a forum for the consultation process between citizens, business and politics, which was initiated by the United Nations at the 1992 “World Summit" in Rio de Janeiro. Hamm feels traditionally particularly committed to promoting community involvement. What began with a model environmental city of the future and continued as Agenda 21, is reflected now in the principles of community citizens. FUgE is helping to fill this concept of a local community of responsibility of policy, management and citizenship to life.

The FUgE Network

FUgE is a network of developmental, environmental, peace promotion and human rights work of committed groups and individuals. See FUgE members, there is a forum for stakeholders from the one-world and the environment in Hamm and in the Hellweg region. The work is supported by the active members, the board, the store team, the one-world-as well as coordinator of FUgE-staff.

The aim of this work is raising awareness and change society for the purposes of a just, democratic and ecological development. It is FUgE uses since 1998 dealing with local and international organizations and regional support for the creation of local one-world networks.

Regional networking site of the Hellweg region

In the joint-office of the Hellweg region (eastern Ruhr region / district of Soest) is the regional coordinator for development education, Marcos A. da Costa Melo, as the main contact person for the various one-world groups available.

The aim of the Regional networking site is to combine the one-world work in the Hellweg region and attract many committed groups and individual initiatives to the table. This is done through a mix of services and events, which are made with the help of many volunteers on their feet. It therefore promotes an information and networking structure of one-world initiatives from Hamm, from the circles Unna and Soest. See e.g. the networks LIGA in Lünen and LiNet in Lippstadt. FUgE operates this coordination for development education in cooperation with the One World network and InWent NRW.
